Sat down with Mike Kershnar last night to sketch out the graphic for the flier for AWESOME NUMBER ONE BIG FUN GROUP SHOW!. He did some sweet lettering for me, and here it is:
In other news, finally brought home a Jesse Balmer drawing I bought at Sketch Tuesday last month.
Hi guys. I've been crazy busy with school, assisting artist Mike Kershnar in his studio, and the usual. Finally took some time to scan better photos of what's in my sketchbook so far, plus some new stuff to check out. Here goes:
Did this drawing of my friend Jeremiah after several glasses of wine. The technique was intentional. What surprises me is that it actually does resemble him, in a squiggly sort of way.
Super-simple sketch I did of Kimi Recor, talented artist and lead singer of local band Lilofee. Keep a sharp eye out for Kimi's rad artwork at 111 Minna in February, and give her band a listen, because it effing rocks. I'm showing some of Kimi's work in June as part of my whorishly big group show at Medicine Agency.
This one using a photo of my friend Jamie being exasperated. I inherited an antique harmonica and hundreds of family photos from the 50s over the weekend. Expect to see sketches from those photos here soon.
